Music Sharing #2 Geisha Neko
In the pandemic era, people’s lives have changed a lot. What doesn’t change these years is the heart we love music.
If you haven’t watched the last music sharing post yet, you can check it out here
Geisha Neko, a Hong Kong indie band, seems to be another hidden gem in the music scene during the pandemic era.
Geisha Neko’s name comes from two parts. Geisha, an occupation that originated in Japan, usually refers to female art performers. Neko is the Japanese name for cats. Combining them, the name Geisha Neko came out.
Like their name, their music is also influenced by Japanese music. Most of their songs have strong J-style feelings.
The experienced members from Geisha Neko have made this band stands out from other newly-formed bands. The decent guitar riff, catchy bass and the emotions in the vocal attract me a lot.
As I always said, music speaks better than words. Let’s listen to one of their song (also my favourite one) — natural conversation
Although the song last for 7 minutes, it doesn’t feel that long when you listen to this song, the smooth arrangement, the foot-tapping melody, the building emotions… I love all of these so much.
To conclude, Geisha Neko must be one of the potential bands. Compared with After Tales I wrote in my last post, both are excellent bands and play in J-pop / J-rock style, but the emotions they gave to me are different.
I hope you enjoy my recommendation today, there are lots of good music waiting for us to discover in the current global market, and I will share more high-quality music in future. You can kindly follow me for notification when I recommend new songs.
